Job Title: Facilities Engineer II

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of building mechanical systems and equipment.

Job Summary:

The Facilities Engineer II will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of power plant equipment, including high pressure boilers, chillers, and medical air compressors. You will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment, as well as responding to plant emergencies and performing chemical analysis tests.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain building mechanical systems and equipment, including power plant equipment, boilers, chillers, and medical air compressors.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment, including cleaning and painting equipment, piping, and associated accessories.
  • Respond to plant emergencies and perform chemical analysis tests as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain the chemical balance in boiler, cooling tower, and closed loop systems.
  • Assist contractors and vendors with repairs, maintenance, and construction projects.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of relevant building maintenance experience, including high pressure steam boilers.
  • Licensed as a Stationary Engineer.
  • Experience with boilers, generators, or mechanical maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hospital or military experience.
  • One year of training in boiler maintenance.
