About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems, including boilers, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain mechanical systems to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boilers, HVAC systems, and other mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical systems, including electronic and industrial equipment
  • Collaborate with facilities staff to ensure seamless operation of mechanical systems
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent; two years formal vocational or technical training
  • Valid California Driver License
  • At least three years experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, with at least two years experience in building operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • E.P.A. Certified Universal Technician Licenses
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and on-call assignments. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues is essential.
