Building Operations Assistant

Location: New Orleans, LA

Full-Time Position

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000

Position Overview

  • Support the Director of Operations for the Saenger Theatre & Mahalia Jackson Theater
  • Manage venue readiness before, during, and after events
  • Exhibit honesty, initiative, motivation, and punctuality
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members
  • Assist various departments as needed
  • Address venue and patron concerns with attentiveness
  • Perform minor repair tasks as required
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software
  • Ensure venue cleanliness and manage supplies

Collaborative Environment

  • Engage with New Orleans Opera and New Orleans Ballet
  • Alternate work between two theater locations
  • Strong computer skills are essential

Qualifications and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, painting, and general maintenance
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Capability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends
