Contract Specialist Job Description

About the Role:

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join our team. As a Contract Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the contract lifecycle, from proposal development to contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in advance planning discussions for new business pursuits.
  • Assist in contract negotiation and administration to ensure proper contract attainment and implementation of contract requirements.
  • Support project initiation, including modification entry in department databases/systems.
  • Identify, track, mitigate, and resolve risk issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and customer specifications.
  • Preserve Intellectual Property through timely notification of intellectual property rights to the government.
  • Assist during government audits and reviews.
  • Support Contract Closeout team to include intellectual property reporting and certification, government property disposition and certification, and final invoicing.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Government Contract Management.
  • Experience working with FAR, DFARS, Agency regulations, ITAR, etc.
  • Experience in generating and negotiating proposals/contracts.
  • Experience with T&M, Fixed Price, and Cost Type Contracts as well as IDIQ vehicles.
  • Effective Communicator and Negotiator.
  • Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, manage time effectively, and work independently to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project).

Desired Skills:

  • Organized and systematic approach to task management that enables timely closure of actions.
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
  • Experience working GSA Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) and OTA (Other Transactional Authority) contracts.

Security Requirements:

Candidate shall have the ability to apply for and hold DoD or similar clearance(s), as needed.
