Job Summary:

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a skilled Nephrologist Physician to provide high-quality patient care and participate in multidisciplinary activities involving the treatment of patients admitted to the Medicine Service Line.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships within Medicine Service, and with other services and facility management which result in improved patient care.
  • Provide quality patient-centered patient care to both inpatients and outpatients for adults age 18-65 and older adults age 65+ as assigned by Chief, Nephrology Section.
  • Serves as staff attending for sub-specialty consult service as assigned.
  • Develops the initial plan of care and updates the plan, serving as a resource person to less experienced staff, and acts as a leader in developing standards of care.
  • Assesses veterans and identifies acute/non-acute/chronic health problems by utilizing advanced clinical judgment and physical assessment skills.
  • Expected to be proficient in inpatient and outpatient dialysis delivery.
  • Provides inpatient and outpatient Nephrology care care and participates in On-call responsibilities at the Salisbury medical center per On-call schedule/ rotation

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must be board eligible/board certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Must be proficient in inpatient and outpatient dialysis delivery.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain professional relationships within Medicine Service, and with other services and facility management which result in improved patient care.

Preferred Experience:

  • ABIM Board certified in Nephrology
