Phlebotomy Specialist

Pride Health is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to support our client's medical facility in Kinston, NC. This is a 4+ month contract opportunity with the possibility of a contract-to-hire position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
- Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
- Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.
- Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
- Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
- Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
- Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs.
