We are seeking a highly skilled Methane Emissions Specialist to join our team at Heath Consultants Incorporated.
About the Role
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers and internal teams on methane emissions reduction using Heath manufactured or distributed products and software applications.
- Conduct field experiments, participate in data analysis, and develop procedures and protocols for methane emissions measurement.
- Summarize data and provide reports in accordance with measurement protocols and sound scientific methods, and help customers comply with methane regulations.
- Collaborate with product development teams to define requirements that align with regulations, test protocols, and best practices.
- Develop verification and validation procedures for new products and software applications.
- Support the development of data analytics algorithms and techniques using knowledge of fluid dynamics, atmospheric sciences, and statistics.
- Partner with research institutions to collect and analyze data, strengthening the understanding of methane emissions from oil and gas infrastructure and identifying opportunities for methane mitigation.
- Provide technical support to marketing, sales, users, and customers on the use of products and software for leak detection and methane emissions applications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology and policy changes through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with a focus on fluid dynamics, atmospheric science, or environmental science.
- At least 2 years of experience in a methane emissions-related role.
- Strong background in conducting fieldwork, including air quality and/or emissions sampling.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and the use of relevant software tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).
- Knowledge of methane emission policies, regulations, and measurement frameworks at state, national, and international levels.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate scientific concepts and research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan and execute field experiments and their reports and papers within specified timeframes.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Travel and Salary
- This role requires the ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000.
