About the Role

Hill Construction Corp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic Orange County team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our custom construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bidding and Estimating: Assist in the preparation and management of project bids and estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Project Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, including creating and tracking project timelines, milestones, and deadlines.
  • RFI Management: Coordinate and manage the receipt, review, and response to Requests for Information (RFIs) from project stakeholders.
  • Subcontract Management: Oversee the management of subcontractors, including coordinating with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of subcontracted work.
  • Purchase Order Management: Manage the preparation and processing of purchase orders, including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Shop Drawing Management: Coordinate and manage the receipt, review, and approval of shop drawings from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Change Order Management: Assist in the preparation and management of change orders, including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Project Billing Review/Approval: Review and approve project invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management and Forecasting: Identify and mitigate potential risks to project delivery, including developing and implementing risk management strategies and forecasts.
  • Submittal and Procurement Management: Coordinate and manage the receipt, review, and approval of submittals from subcontractors and suppliers, including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years minimum direct experience with project schedules, RFIs, estimates, budgets, and contracts.
  • Skills: Ability to read and bid construction plans, comprehensive knowledge of subcontractor scopes, ability to communicate with project owners, architects, and office team clearly and effectively, computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Management Software), P6/On-Center/Revit/Bluebeam experience a plus, Sage/Timberline experience a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Willingness to regularly visit and walk job sites, ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods, walk job sites with ease, and bend/stoop as needed, ability to lift or maneuver boxes without accommodation, possession of Hill Construction Corp's core values: passion, integrity, hard work, and professionalism.
