Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Darien, Illinois. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans using various techniques, including assistive devices and splints, to enhance patients' functional independence.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and provide status updates to physicians.
  • Plan for and complete patient discharge, including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, and referral for community services.
  • Complete all required documentation, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, discharge summaries, and records of patient care and progress.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

The Occupational Therapist will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. The Occupational Therapist must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
