Role Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to implement the treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist to enhance and/or sustain the mobility and functional abilities of participants at Brio Living Services. This role involves supporting the overall physical therapy program, which includes providing therapeutic exercises, gait training, and coordinating durable medical equipment (DME), as well as developing group exercise programs for maintenance therapy under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
- Implement therapy plans that include exercises, treatments, and adaptive aids as needed.
- Deliver services to participants in both community settings and care facilities.
- Engage in the development and execution of movement activities, educational sessions, and group challenges as appropriate.
- Monitor and ensure proper fit and usage of DME.
- Provide training to caregivers and family members regarding the treatment plan.
- Review restorative care plans with Physical Therapists as directed.
- Assist in coordinating the 24-hour care delivery for participants.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as directed by supervisors.
- Complete documentation in accordance with organizational standards.

Qualifications Required
- Completion of an associate degree program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) is mandatory. A current, unencumbered, active license as a physical therapy assistant in the state of Michigan is required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with elderly populations.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Michigan driver's license are necessary.
- Current CPR certification from AHA is required or the willingness to obtain it through Brio Living Services.
