Memory Care Activities Coordinator

The Memory Care Activities Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and implementing a diverse range of activities that cater to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Activity Coordinator to plan and coordinate activities, including reality orientation, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, and special events.
- Assist with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter.
- Purchase supplies for activities as needed.
- Distribute mail daily to residents.
- Escort residents to and from recreational areas.
- Announce scheduled activities over the intercom at least fifteen minutes prior to the activity.
- Direct volunteer activities, enlist their support, and coordinate their efforts.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident's activity attendance.
- Assume responsibility for planning and coordinating activities in the absence of the Activity Coordinator.
- High School degree required.
- One year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed healthcare setting preferred.
- Background in music, art, drama, and dance therapy preferred.
