Averitt Express is seeking a skilled CDL-A qualified dock associate to join our team. As a dock associate, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our facilities, utilizing digital scanners and modern equipment to manage the loading and unloading of freight. When needed, you will also use your CDL-A license to make deliveries to local customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload freight, lifting up to 80 pounds
  • Move freight, applying up to 54 pounds of force
  • Open and close trailer doors, applying up to 46 pounds of force
  • Enter and exit commercial motor vehicles and trailers
  • Count and verify freight
  • Complete bill of lading and fuel tickets
  • Obtain sales leads and secure extra shipments
  • Hook and unhook trailers, applying up to 90 pounds of force
  • Complete delivery receipts and perform pre-trip inspections
  • Drive and operate forklifts

Requirements:
  • 21 years of age

  • Class A CDL required

  • No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
  • No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
  • No suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years
  • No serious violations within the previous 12 months
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
  • No Preventable DOT Recordable accidents within the past 3 years
