Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dialysis Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Correctional Dialysis RN, you will be responsible for delivering safe and efficient hemodialysis treatment to patients in a correctional facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures and provide specialized registered nursing care to patients
  • Assess patient responses to renal failure and its treatments, and make necessary adjustments to therapy
  • Recognize changes in patients on dialysis and respond appropriately
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients, utilizing the team approach and collaborating with other healthcare professionals
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly
  • Perform other duties as required, including maintaining a clean and safe environment, and participating in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent
  • Current RN license for Georgia and current CPR certification
  • One year of recent Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years of experience preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English
  • Strong technical/computer proficiency with laptops, tablets, and other medical equipment

Work Environment

This role exists in a correctional facility setting, and the employee will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The employee will be exposed to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens, and will be required to follow strict infection control procedures.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and using hands to handle or feel. The employee will be required to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds, and will be required to work for extended periods of time in a standing position.
