Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician - OB/GYN to join our team at Central Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in the specialty area of Family Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments of patients using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation, and percussion.
  • Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient conditions.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, disorders, and injuries based on patient medical history and results of physical assessments.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies for treatment and preventive care.
  • Instruct patients and their families regarding procedures performed, home care, and follow-up visits.
  • Direct professional and ancillary healthcare staff during treatment of patients.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff and patients regarding preventive health and treatments.
  • Compile patient medical data, including health history, treatment plans, and results of physical examinations, and record in electronic medical records.
  • Report required information, including deaths and outbreaks of contagious diseases, to governmental authorities.
  • Plan, promote, demonstrate, recommend, and coordinate high standards of medical practice.
  • Demonstrate expertise in relevant medical practices, protocols, trends, and best practices in clinical areas assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations.
Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited educational institution.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology or passage of Board Certification examination within two years of employment.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration for the purpose of writing prescriptions.
  • Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience/knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation process and requirements, as well as all federal, state, and local regulations and standards associated with the delivery of care in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in an integrated delivery environment.
