Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide support to medical practitioners providing patient care services in an ambulatory setting. Your responsibilities will include both clinical and administrative duties necessary to provide quality patient care in a medical group practice setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist providers with procedures
Conduct follow-up with patients on lab and test results
Room patients
Obtain ECGs
Preload and confirm office appointments
Perform other clinical and administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of a medical assistant program and externship (or equivalent work experience)
Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CCMA, CMA, NCMA, RMA)
Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and patient histories
Competent in use of computer software
Current CPR certification
Working Environment:
This position is located in a busy, often stressful, ambulatory setting providing direct patient care to all age patients. You must be able to lift approximately 15 pounds unassisted and possess the degree of total body strength and flexibility necessary to assist patients with transfers and mobility. You will also be required to stretch, reach, and retrieve equipment from supply carts and to bend to reach equipment stored below the waist.
