As a prerequisite for employment, all individuals must successfully complete a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, along with providing proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Armed Security Officer is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of Unified Government facilities, personnel, and the public. Responsibilities encompass monitoring entry points, overseeing metal detection systems, and conducting regular patrols of the premises. The officer will also be required to compile detailed reports and provide testimony in legal proceedings when necessary. Proficiency in operating various security equipment, including fire alarms, computers, panic alarms, and elevators, is essential. The role necessitates the ability to effectively utilize firearms and tasers when required. This position may involve working unconventional hours, including weekends and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS:


A High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the individual to fulfill the essential functions of the role, is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Successful completion of a basic security training course and passing semi-annual weapons qualifications are mandatory. This training includes handcuffing techniques, responding to active threats, and defensive tactics. Candidates must also qualify with a Conducted Electrical Weapon (Taser) and pass the OC qualification.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, particularly those related to search and seizure, as well as an understanding of security protocols and procedures.

A valid Driver's License is required at the time of application.

Compensation:
$26.94 per hour.
