We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform common testing procedures and report test results.
- Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform quality control testing.
- Maintain supplies needed for performance of tests.
- Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and report/document results per organizational standards.
- Collect samples and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities.
- Collect blood and study blood samples used in transfusions.
- Associate's Degree (or equivalent) in Applied Science or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- MLT ASCP, AMT, or NCA certification preferred.
