Role Summary

The Information Security Lead plays a crucial role in enhancing and managing the organization's information security framework to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. This position involves the formulation and execution of security policies, conducting risk evaluations, addressing security incidents, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Security Development:

  • Formulate and execute a holistic information security strategy that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations to identify and address security threats.

Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Create, implement, and uphold security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Facilitate and support both internal and external audits.

Operational Security Management:

  • Oversee security systems, networks, and applications for potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage and respond to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and remediation efforts.
  • Conduct regular security evaluations, penetration testing, and audits.

Security Awareness and Training:

  • Design and deliver security awareness training programs for all employees.
  • Foster a culture of security consciousness throughout the organization.

Incident Management:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive incident response strategy.
  • Lead incident response initiatives, coordinating with external partners and stakeholders as necessary.

Technology Oversight:

  • Assess, implement, and manage security technologies and tools.
  • Stay informed about emerging security trends, threats, and technological advancements.
Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in information security or cybersecurity.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, compliance management, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in DevOps/Infrastructure/SRE roles with security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and encryption in Linux environments.
