Job Title: Survey Technician/Senior Survey Technician

Timmons Group is a dynamic and innovative engineering and technology firm seeking a highly skilled Survey Technician or Senior Survey Technician to join our Survey Group in our Staunton, VA office.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to assist in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of land surveying. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including drafting subdivision plats, boundary surveys, and easement plats, as well as preparing parcel descriptions, staking maps, and cutsheets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft subdivision plats, boundary surveys, and easement plats
  • Prepare parcel descriptions, staking maps, and cutsheets
  • Perform limited courthouse research
  • Submit plats for jurisdictional approval
  • Work closely with project managers and group leaders
  • May substitute in the field when necessary
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, scope of services, project budgets, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read deed descriptions, title reports, zoning reports, survey plats, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as trigonometry and geometry
