We are currently seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant Intern to join our team at Compass Group, North America. This role is designed for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in the catering industry, focusing on both sales and operational aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Catering Manager to understand the nuances of event catering.
- Engage with clients to finalize event details, including menu choices, tastings, and decor arrangements.
- Assist in the setup and execution of events, ensuring adherence to established timelines and guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Support the culinary team in crafting customized menus tailored to client preferences.
- Coordinate with external vendors for services such as rentals and floral arrangements.
- Participate in staff scheduling and training to uphold catering standards.
- Contribute to marketing efforts for catering services both on and off campus.
- Assist in managing inventory and ensuring all supplies are adequately stocked.
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
- Must be an undergraduate student.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Familiarity with various computer applications and office equipment.
- Experience with both MAC and PC systems is advantageous.
