Key Responsibilities:
As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist, you will:

  • Adhere strictly to physician directives and comply with radiation safety regulations to protect yourself, patients, and colleagues from unnecessary exposure.
  • Assist patients in transferring to examination tables and ensure proper immobilization for effective imaging.
  • Verify patient identification and manage imaging studies in the PACS system.
  • Document patient interactions and maintain a daily log of examinations performed.
  • Operate radiologic and fluoroscopy equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Gather essential patient information from medical records and previous imaging studies for clinical correlation.
  • Monitor patient responses during procedures and report any changes in their condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures as directed by physicians, ensuring care is delivered with dignity and respect.
  • Educate patients about the imaging processes to enhance their understanding and comfort.
  • Utilize proper anatomical positioning and radiologic techniques to obtain optimal image quality, following protocols established by radiologists.
  • Implement safety protocols, including radiation protection and universal precautions.
  • Conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment and report any issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and the ability to work independently.
  • Commit to total quality management and uphold the principles of service excellence in alignment with our organizational mission.
  • Stay informed about advancements in technology and safety practices relevant to patient care.
  • Process imaging studies for patient requests while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment and work areas.
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols and the location of emergency equipment.
  • Keep up-to-date with departmental scheduling, booking, and PACS systems.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain technical knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid New York State and/or Connecticut Radiology License and ARRT Certification.
  • Exceptional diagnostic imaging skills in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and patient interaction skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy, along with proper positioning techniques and protocol utilization.
  • A solid foundation in various routine imaging procedures and applications.
  • The ability to maintain continuing education credits and professional licenses as mandated by relevant health departments and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $36/hr to $42/hr, based on industry standards and determined by factors such as experience and job location.
