The Wireless Technology division is at the forefront of redefining connectivity. We are pioneering the establishment of the nation’s first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from the ground up.

This network serves as the backbone of a connected society, free from the constraints of previous technologies, and adaptable to meet the evolving social, economic, and transformative demands of our world.


Key Responsibilities:


As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect at Dish Wireless, you will be instrumental as a thought leader and subject matter expert for our large-scale environments hosted on public cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with a dynamic engineering team to support all public cloud services. The role will involve addressing both automation-level and resource-level incidents.

Your contributions will ensure that software development workflows and systems management are seamlessly integrated to achieve reliability, flexibility, and scalability.


Primary Duties:
1. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement effective cloud-based solutions.

2. Exhibit outstanding problem-solving capabilities.

3. Ensure the uptime, scalability, and maintainability of cloud computing resources.

4. Advocate for the management of cloud environments in line with best practices and security protocols.

5. Design and implement automated backup and recovery processes for systems operating in cloud environments.

6. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 platform support.

7. Guide vendors through feature tracking and prioritization.

8. Maintain a spirit of technical curiosity, researching and implementing innovative technical solutions.

9. Lead integration efforts with various cloud service providers.

10. Engage in design reviews of architectural patterns for service/application deployments on public cloud platforms.

11. Serve as a subject matter expert for public cloud platforms.

12. Ensure that high availability and disaster recovery strategies are effectively designed and documented.

13. Establish entry and exit criteria for new software loads/releases transitioning through multiple environments.

14. Support testing and evaluation processes.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

14+ years of experience in cloud system integration, support, and automation.

14+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.

14+ years of experience with cloud services including, but not limited to, EC2, ALB/NLB, S3, IAM, Auto-Scaling, CloudWatch, RDS, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, Elastic Search, SSM, KMS, Kinesis, SNS, and SQS.

14+ years of experience in infrastructure or application automation.

14+ years of experience in middleware and telecommunications.

14+ years of experience with Linux distributions.

14+ years of experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing protocols, and general network communications.

14+ years of experience supporting cloud-hosted systems in a 24/7 environment, including troubleshooting incidents, identifying root causes, resolving issues, and implementing preventative measures.

14+ years of experience with observability tools such as Datadog, ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Skills and Attributes:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

In-depth understanding of Infrastructure as Code solutions and tools, including Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

Strong grasp of DevOps and agile methodologies.

Ability to perform well under pressure and manage tight deadlines.

Proven history of operational process improvement.

Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems and microservices.

AWS certifications (Professional level and above) are advantageous.

Kubernetes certifications are also a plus.

The base salary range provided is a guideline.

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is influenced by the role's location and may change based on work location.
