Position Overview

The Senior Requirements Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in steering engineering teams towards a comprehensive approach to requirements management, solutions development, scheduling, reliability, and integration within the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG) and related agencies. This position is crucial for ensuring the delivery of precise and timely GEOINT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs and mentors Mid-level and Junior-level engineers in executing requirements engineering, solutions development, and system integration across various intelligence systems.
  • Oversees the planning and analysis of user requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment with system architectures and operational procedures.
  • Facilitates the development of solution designs by guiding engineers in analyzing requirements and leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Collaborates with government stakeholders to capture and translate mission objectives into actionable systems and capability requirements.
  • Supports the allocation of requirements to system architecture components and assists in program execution.
  • Engages in systems integration activities, ensuring cohesive functionality across multiple systems.
  • Conducts comprehensive analyses including Alternatives Analysis (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), and Engineering Assessments.
  • Contributes to strategic technical planning, project management, and risk management initiatives.
  • Integrates various systems and processes within Major Systems Acquisitions, ensuring compliance across organizational boundaries.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or related technical fields such as engineering, mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant technical experience, with experience in requirements-focused systems engineering considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience in government or industry, particularly in DoD/IC Acquisition, Requirements Process, or system engineering of complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain it.
Desired Skills:
  • A Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related fields.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
  • INCOSE Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Experience in geospatial intelligence.
  • Professional engineering licensure.
  • Active participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geographic information systems.
  • Understanding of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
