Position Overview:


Comtec Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect with a robust coding background and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have a total of 10+ years in the software engineering field, with significant expertise in application and solution architecture.

This role involves collaborating with manufacturing facilities to design and implement architectural solutions tailored to their business needs. The Solution Architect will be responsible for troubleshooting issues within the factories and developing effective solutions while managing project roadmaps.

The selected individual will support factory operations and lead software development initiatives within the team, emphasizing the importance of hands-on coding capabilities. Collaboration with product owners is also a key aspect of this role.

Experience with AWS is preferred, although familiarity with other cloud platforms is acceptable. There is a strong possibility for this position to transition into a full-time role based on performance.



Key Responsibilities:


The Solution Architect will oversee the complete application architecture and development lifecycle, transforming business requirements into operational software systems, services, and solutions across designated domains or application portfolios.

This position demands a deep understanding of full-stack application development, database architecture, and systems implementation, as the architect will craft technical solutions to meet complex business challenges.

Collaboration with business and engineering stakeholders is essential to convert business requirements into comprehensive functional, technical, and design specifications for development teams.

Expertise in distributed computing, cloud architecture, data/database design, and web application development is crucial, along with experience in managing application portfolios. A background in financial systems and relevant domain knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory.



Qualifications:


To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally with a background in software development.
  • A minimum of 3 years as an Application or Solutions Architect, delivering scalable enterprise solutions using modern cloud-native technologies (AWS preferred).
  • Experience in creating reusable software components and shared libraries in languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, and Python.
  • A strong grasp of microservices architecture, cloud computing, and non-functional software architecture aspects.
  • Knowledge of InfoSec and DevSecOps principles, particularly with AWS technologies.
  • Relevant certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, are highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of advising both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching software developers on system design, code quality, and maintainability.


What You'll Be Doing:


As a Solution Architect, you will:

  • Drive the design of full-stack solutions based on industry best practices, including microservices, streaming technologies, and event-driven architectures.
  • Work closely with domain architects, subject matter experts, delivery leads, and product owners to develop timely solutions for business challenges.
  • Enhance non-functional requirements such as reusability, scalability, maintainability, performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of software patterns and artifacts, promoting effective pattern utilization during development.
  • Provide operational support, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation to ensure system integrity and facilitate knowledge sharing.
