We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Highway Civil Engineer to join our team in one of our Illinois offices: Chicago, Schaumburg, and/or Geneva.
The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of tasks, including:
- Plan development
- Quantity calculations
- Geometric design
- Pavement marking and signing
- Drainage design
- Traffic studies
- Traffic signal design
- Community engagement
- Report composition
- Specifications
- Cost estimations
- Roadway lighting
- Other related duties
The candidate will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other groups on multi-disciplinary projects, tackling challenging assignments in a dynamic and innovative work setting.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
- Ability to obtain Fundamentals of Engineering registration within 1 year
- Minimum of 1 year of experience (including internships)
Preferred qualifications include:
- Graduate from ABET accredited program
- Previous internship experience in roadway, bridge, drainage, construction inspection, and/or lighting
- Experience with Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Illinois DOT, Chicago DOT, local municipalities, Metra, Class I railroads, or on other Federally-funded projects
- Geopak and/or Microstation working knowledge
