We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Novant Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all collection procedures, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, and advising and assisting in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all collection procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.
- Develop and maintain department quality assurance.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff, and the public.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- One year of relevant phlebotomy experience, preferred.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program, preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification – ASCP, NHA, ASPT, AMT or a national accrediting agency approved by Laboratory Senior Leadership within 12 months of start date.
- Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
- Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff, and the public.
- Ability to follow written protocols.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
