Job Summary
Audubon Companies is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team nationwide. This role may require working in multiple states, operating mobile cranes to transfer heavy objects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Specialized Machinery: Safely operate mobile cranes, including telescope booms, lattice booms, and hydraulic cranes, to transfer heavy objects.
- Load Capacity Calculation: Calculate load capacity, determining the weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of the crane based on manufacturer specifications.
- Site Inspection: Inspect clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ground Condition Assessment: Inspect and assess ground conditions to ensure the crane can be set up safely.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect cranes for defects and wear prior to operation, perform necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Compliance and Record-Keeping: Comply with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices, maintaining logs and records of operation activities.
Requirements
- Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required, completion of apprenticeship for mobile crane operators required, certification by the North American Crane Bureau Group or the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators required.
- License and Certification: Valid state license to operate heavy equipment required, valid NCCCO-NCCER-LBC/Lattice Boom Crawler certification required, valid NCCO-NCCER-TLL Telescopic Boom Cranes—Swing Cab (TLL) certification required.
- Communication and Troubleshooting: Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records, ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Driver's License and Clean Driving Record: Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
