Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dining Room Assistant to join our team at Colonial Williamsburg Company. As a key member of our dining room staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests have a memorable and exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist servers with clearing tables in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Provide exceptional water and coffee service throughout the meal, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and attended to.
  • Maintain dining room stations before, during, and after service, including polishing silverware, glassware, and folding linen napkins.
  • Reset tables to a high standard, ensuring that every guest feels like they are experiencing a five-star dining experience.
  • Take necessary precautions to avoid breakage of glassware and dinnerware, demonstrating a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Assist servers throughout the shift, providing support and guidance as needed, and seeking to learn all the materials provided to our wait staff.
  • Place the needs of the guest above all else, ensuring that every guest feels valued and respected.
Requirements
  • 6 months to one year of food service or restaurant experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated excellent public contact skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, employees, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, and working while standing for long periods of time.
