Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program and Outreach Director to join our team at Phoenix Senior Living. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing a resident-centered activities and outreach program that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy to incorporate wellness in all aspects of the seniors' lives we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities and outreach program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and other department heads to ensure alignment with the company's overall mission and goals.
- Recruit, hire, and train staff members to support the activities and outreach program.
- Participate in the development of Personalized Service Plans (PSPs) for residents.
- Ensure a variety of appropriate and personalized activities are available throughout the day and evening, incorporating all dimensions of wellness.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and interest in activities.
- Organize small groups or clubs that address similar needs and preferences in a small group/club setting.
- Recognize and respond to changes in resident condition, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Assist residents to and from activity rooms when necessary.
- Maintain an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs, and crafts.
- Schedule, communicate, and assist with facilitation and records of monthly resident Council meetings.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology, or other course of study that relates to service to the elderly.
- 1-3 years' experience in senior living/skilled nursing activity and event planning, including moderate to large event planning responsibilities outside the senior living industry.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- In an 8-hour workday, the associate may stand/walk: 4-6 hours.
- In an 8-hour workday, the associate may sit: 2-4 hours.
- In an 8-hour workday, the associate may drive: 30-60 minutes, 1-2 times a week.
- The associate will support/assist: 50 lbs. (maximum), 150 lbs. (occasionally).
- The associate will lift/carry: 40 lbs. (maximum), 70 lbs. (occasionally).
- The associate will use hands for repetitive: simple grasping, pushing, and pulling, fine manipulation.
- The associate should be able to: bend, squat, kneel, climb, and reach (occasionally, 3 feet).
