Critical Care Registered Nurse

We are looking for a committed Critical Care Registered Nurse to become part of our ICU/CCU team. The nurse will be responsible for executing a tailored care plan for a specific group of patients. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The ideal candidate will deliver specialized care for critically ill patients in a high-pressure and dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' health conditions, understand coping mechanisms, gather perceptions of medical/nursing care, and identify cultural and ethnic needs.
- Effectively manage patients with external ventricular drains (EVD), multiple medication infusions, and utilize Hemosphere Flotrac technology.
- Determine patient outcomes, establish criteria for measuring these outcomes, and identify both actual and potential patient issues.
- Skilled in managing trauma patients with varying degrees of severity.
- Knowledgeable in the care of pleurevac chest tube drainage and the operation of PCA pumps.
- Interpret and carry out treatment plans as directed by physicians, assisting during treatment and diagnostic procedures.
- Perform Grade I-IV Decubitus Care and implement preventive skin care strategies.
- Administer medications accurately and safely, educating patients and families about drug and food interactions.
- Engage in patient and family education initiatives.
- Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Critical Care practices of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse License.
- 1-3 years of experience in critical care or intensive care settings.
- Certifications: AHA, BCLS, ACLS, PALS required.
- Proficient in medication administration and suture techniques.
- Experience in Nuclear Medicine is preferred.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure and in high-stress environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
