Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to support our medical team. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians during procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians during endoscopy procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment
- Operate and maintain endoscopy equipment, ensuring proper function and safety
- Perform analysis of technical problems and respond accordingly to support endoscopy patients
- Interact effectively with operating room staff, patients, and families
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to Singing River Health System policies and procedures
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- One year of experience in a medical environment required
- Must complete and maintain current BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
- De-escalation training completed within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Work is moderately active, involving sitting and frequent movement
- Exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
- Responsible for safely moving, lifting, and handling supplies, equipment, and patients
- Subject to exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry infectious disease hazards
- Demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment, and decision-making abilities
- Superior communication, speaking, and enunciation skills to receive and give information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
- Knowledge of and ability to use sterile technique
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in complex situations
- Superior customer service skills and professional knowledge of computer software and office technology
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain collaborative working relationships
