Job Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach in-person courses in the Film and Digital Arts department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses, including video production, producing, digital post-production, visual effects, animation, screenwriting, cinematography, directing, editing, film history, and introduction to film studies.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in-person courses in the Film and Digital Arts department
  • Develop and implement course curriculum
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to departmental decisions
Requirements
  • Master's degree in the discipline or subfield, or successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield
  • Ability to demonstrate tested experience that the Department of Film and Digital Arts has determined to be equivalent to a Master's degree in the discipline or subfield
  • Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
  • Significant professional experience in film or digital arts, in the subfield for which you are applying
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a film or digital arts program
  • Knowledge of industry-standard software and equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
