We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Ascension. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing patient care and assisting physicians in conducting invasive cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Render patient care in accordance with physician protocols to provide patient comfort and well-being.
- Assist physicians in conducting invasive cardiac procedures by preparing equipment and patients, functioning as a scrub assistant, and recording hemodynamic and electrodigraphic data.
- Orient students and new employees to the catheterization laboratory and assist with patient transport.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading relevant literature and attending conferences.
- Prepare sterile set-ups of instruments and supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Operate apparatus outside the laboratory, such as the Fick apparatus, blood oximeter, and densitometer, to assess physiologic parameters.
- Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following required: Certified Advanced Life Support specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date, or Certified Instructor.
- Registered Cardiographic Tech specializing in Cardiac-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) obtained within 18 months of hire date or job transfer date.
The Cardiovascular Technologist will work in a normal laboratory environment with occasional exposure to patients with infectious diseases.
