Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Arborist Technician to join our team. As an Arborist Technician, you will assist in performing tree maintenance operations, including tree removal, pruning, and debris disposal. You will also support special events and other specialized activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in tree maintenance operations, including tree removal, pruning, and debris disposal
  • Support special events and other specialized activities
  • Operate and maintain arboriculture equipment, including boom trucks, chippers, and dump trucks
  • Help preserve trees on construction sites by implementing strategies for their health
  • Establish and maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with members of the Department and campus community
Requirements
  • High school diploma and 2 or more years of experience
  • Drivers license required
  • Certified Arborist with ISA or ability to obtain within two years of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or related field
  • Certified Arborist with ISA
  • Previous experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture, preferably on a college campus
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
