Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Arborist Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the campus arborist in performing tree maintenance operations, including tree removal, pruning, and debris disposal. This role requires a strong knowledge of arboriculture procedures, safe work practices, and the ability to work individually or in teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of daily job sites
  • Rig tree parts and ensure the safety and security of the jobsite
  • Remove campus trees and dispose of all debris
  • Operate chain saws, hand saws, and pruners to remove trees and branches
  • Chip branches or load them into dump trucks
  • Perform all tree care operations following ANSI Z133
  • Clean up work areas and maintain equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tree equipment
  • Ensure public safety by directing pedestrian and vehicular traffic away from work sites
Requirements
  • High school diploma and 2 or more years of experience
  • Driver's license required
  • Certified Arborist with ISA or ability to obtain within two years of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or related field
  • Certified Arborist with ISA
  • Previous experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture, preferably on a college campus
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
