Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Fairfield Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work to ensure information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
- Verify informed consent and complete pre and post-procedure documentation.
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures. Apply appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.
- Perform timeout as required per policy.
- Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.
- Evaluate images for technical quality.
- Document patient dose exposures.
- Professionally interact with physicians, technologists, physician offices, hospital staff, patient family members, and patients.
- Operate radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with the principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable).
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred)
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required)
- State licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
- BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be required to use physical restraints. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. May have periods of constant interruptions.
