The Director of People Operations will provide strategic leadership for UCLA Extension's People Operations department, driving organizational transformation and quality improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support business objectives
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and grievance handling
  • Ensure compliance with UC and UCLA policies, as well as federal and state employment laws
  • Lead talent management initiatives, including recruitment, selection, and development
  • Collaborate with campus and systemwide HR offices to ensure alignment and best practices
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and processes
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on HR-related matters
Requirements
  • 8 years of progressively responsible HR experience in a large organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR operations and practices, preferably in higher education
  • Working knowledge of federal and state labor law, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEO
  • Experience working in a collective bargaining environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in HR or a related field
  • Experience with classification and compensation systems
  • Knowledge of HR software and systems
  • Experience with HR data analysis and reporting

UCLA provides a competitive salary range of $95,900 to $150,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive environment, with a strong commitment to diversity and equity.
