Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to enhance our corporate operations based in Baton Rouge. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set to support our seasoned team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Estimating team to collect pricing, manufacturer details, and lead times for materials essential to project requirements.
  • Conducting data analysis to ensure optimal pricing and lead times are achieved.
  • Evaluating market trends, supplier performance, and cost data to inform strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Assisting in the procurement of pricing for materials and services needed in the field.
  • Submitting necessary documentation for customer approval on unapproved materials.
  • Partnering closely with the material manager and on-site coordinators.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with existing vendors while identifying new suppliers to enhance ISC's support capabilities.
  • Understanding the specifications, standards, and requirements related to electrical components and materials.
  • Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the company.
  • Coordinating procurement activities in alignment with project timelines to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Problem-solving: Proactively addressing and resolving issues that may arise during the procurement process.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of vendor sourcing in the electrical sector.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly with advanced skills in MS Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
  • Customer service-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a creative approach to challenges.
  • Previous experience in procurement or purchasing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Vista software is a plus, though not mandatory.
