Erie Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Property Adjuster. As a Property Adjuster, you will play a critical role in handling claims and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in our comprehensive training program to learn and develop skills in claims handling operations and processes.
- Successfully complete assigned projects independently, using information and skills acquired in the training program, according to course objectives and timeline.
- Learn and become familiar with branch office procedures and develop a working knowledge of the computer-based estimating system applicable to the role.
- Handle claim functions such as establishing reserves, taking statements, documenting activities, conducting investigations, and adjudicating losses to their final disposition.
- Interact with agents and district sales managers in assigned territory to become familiar with claims and underwriting issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Ability to work in inclement weather and in undesirable indoor environments.
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently without direct supervision.
- Incumbent must live in territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
- Position requires incumbent to serve on Catastrophe duty, which may include travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks.
