Job Title

The Director of Community Outreach position at Dodge City Community College is a rewarding opportunity to lead the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and make a positive impact on the community.

About the Role:

  • To champion the mission of Dodge City Community College, providing student-centered learning environments that foster educational, personal, and career growth.
  • Act as the authorized representative for the DCCC RSVP program, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements through accurate record-keeping and audit preparation.
  • Evaluate volunteer needs in the community and develop strategic plans to drive project success.
  • Prepare grant proposals to secure funding and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Adhere to and implement personnel policies and procedures for project staff, aligning with DCCC, Kansas Corporation for National Service, and RSVP Advisory Council guidelines.
  • Foster collaboration with volunteer stations and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Recruit, train, and deploy RSVP volunteers effectively.
  • Maintain open communication with the RSVP Advisory Council, seeking their advice and input on operational matters.
  • Provide support and resources to RSVP volunteers.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities through training conferences.
  • Enhance the project's overall impact by engaging with local organizations, national service programs, senior, and volunteer initiatives.
  • Cultivate partnerships with sponsor staff, Community Advisory Group members, and volunteer station staff to obtain necessary resources.
  • Devote 600 hours annually to monitoring related activities, including site reviews, parent surveys, training, technical assistance, menu reviews, and enrollment forms, adhering to Federal Monitoring Staffing Standards.
