About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pipefitter to join our team at Primoris Energy Services Corp. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of industrial construction projects, including power generation, oil and gas, chemical, pipeline, utilities and distribution, and civil infrastructure.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing and maintaining piping and piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Selecting the correct size and type of pipe and related material and equipment according to job specifications.
  • Inspecting worksites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain those holes will not cause structural weakness.
  • Planning sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
  • Cutting, threading, and bending pipe.
  • Mounting pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.
  • Assembling and installing a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic.
  • Joining pipe using threaded, caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
  • Securing pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers.
  • Installing and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meter, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
  • Testing piping systems for leaks.
  • Welding pipe supports to structural steel members.
  • Observing production machines in assigned area of manufacturing facility to detect machinery malfunctions.
  • Operating machinery to verify repair if certified to operate.
  • Assisting in lifting, positioning, and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
  • Performing minor maintenance of cleaning tools and equipment.
Requirements
  • 1-4 years of experience in Pipefitting.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation and background check.
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
Working Conditions
  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment, and as required by the company.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
