- Preventative Care: Remove calculus, plaque, and stains from teeth, applying sealants, fluoride, and other preventative materials as needed to promote optimal oral health.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on proper dental hygiene techniques, empowering them to maintain good oral health and prevent future problems.
- Dental Imaging: Take and develop dental x-rays to check for problems and ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Treatment Planning: Assess patients' medical history and dental records to determine the most effective treatment plans.
- Collaboration: Work closely with dentists on complex procedures, providing assistance and support as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of dental and oral health treatments and procedures.
- Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active license to practice dental hygiene in our state.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in dental hygiene, with a proven track record of providing exceptional patient care.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate patients and collaborate with dental professionals.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods of time while examining patients.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with knowledge of dental terminology and tools.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of dental software and technology.
- CPR Certification: CPR certification is a plus, but not required.
