Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Design Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Astemo Americas Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing virtual ECU simulation technology, working closely with international teams and partners to provide innovative solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and integrate complete software virtual solutions for various components and features of real target embedded software.
Implement software solutions applicable to different platforms, including Linux, Windows, and real-time PC, for 32/64-bit machines.
Conduct software requirements analysis, effort estimations, module and integration tests, debugging of VECU and real ECU.
Be responsible for test execution, analysis of test reports, and documentation of test scripts in qualifying VECU as a solution for release testing.
Serve as the direct interface with customers to clarify requirements and propose solutions.
Collaborate closely with international teams and partners to provide VECU solutions.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of software debug tools, such as Lauterbach and P&E Micro.
Experience working with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems from vendors like ETAS and dSPACE.
Familiarity with CAN analysis tools and script generation from vendors such as Vector and Intrepid Control Systems.
Ability to use automotive measurement and calibration tools, such as ETAS INCA or ATI Vision.
Understanding of emulation calibration data memory and ASAP display table measurements.
Familiarity with low-level drivers, such as ADC, PWM, GPIO, timer modules, SPI, SCI, LIN, CAN-FD, SENT, DMA, external bus interfaces, memory management units, ECC, flash memory, etc.
Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS), interrupt service routines, exception handlers, task scheduling, and multi-core CPU operation.

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages, including Python, CAPL, Embedded C/C++, and Matlab.
Experience with Simulink tools, such as VEOS, Automation Desk, Control Desk, System Desk, Vector CANoe, and Canalyzer.
Knowledge of automotive communication protocols, including CAN, CAN-FD, and FlexRay.
Familiarity with microcontrollers, including 32-bit automotive multi-core micros, such as Renesas E2x/RH850 family, Infineon Aurix TCxx family, and NXP S32 family.
Experience with software design tools, such as requirements modeling, UML modeling, AUTOSAR configuration, and RTOS configuration.
Knowledge of software development tools, including cross compilers, static code analysis, in-circuit debuggers, serial communication tools, HIL systems, and measurement & calibration tools.
Familiarity with test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, current probes, and function generators.
Understanding of software process/standards, including V-Model, MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262.
Knowledge of application domains, including powertrain controllers and basic software (BSW) software.
