Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our OBGYN department at Kaiser Permanente. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Tasks:
    • Prepare patients for office visits by ensuring all necessary tests and information are ready for review.
    • Collect and document patient data, including vital signs and medical history.
    • Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as lab specimen collection and ECGs.
    • Administer medications and perform routine medical procedures, such as injections and wound care.
  • Practice Management Activities:
    • Manage patient schedules and coordinate appointments.
    • Respond to patient inquiries and communicate with clinicians as needed.
    • Update patient records and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Teamwork and Professional Development:
    • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and suggest process improvements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical assistant role, preferably in an OBGYN department.
  • Current National Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
