Job Summary:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is seeking a Senior Housekeeping Team Leader to oversee the night shift cleaning operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of housekeeping staff during the night shift
  • Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard
  • Coordinate special projects and events, such as floor cleans and summer cleans
  • Prepare work orders and requisitions for cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas
  • Understand and practice all university safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding job duties
  • Ability to work with industrial-strength chemicals and equipment
  • Ability to lead a small crew and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and basic customer service concepts
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 24 consecutive months

Working Conditions:

The Senior Housekeeping Team Leader will work a Tuesday-Saturday night shift, from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The position requires overtime as needed to cover special events and some rotating on-call responsibilities. Hours may vary in the summer due to the summer modified schedule.
