Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team at Caregiver, Inc. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and understanding approach to working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dining, and social skills.
  • Provide direct support and assistance in training activities as specified in ISPs and activity schedules.
  • Aid in mobility and assist with meal service, promoting social skills and personal dignity.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to company policy and procedure.
  • Participate in in-service training sessions and serve as a role model and mentor to fellow team members.
  • Complete data collection, observation notes, and daily reports as directed by agency policy and procedure.
  • Assist with transportation and participate in the daily operation of the home in various areas, including grocery shopping and van maintenance.

Requirements

  • A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal background checks as required by federal and/or state laws.
