This position entails responsible duties in assisting all parties engaged with the courts in Maury County.

  • Opening and closing courtrooms while ensuring a continuous presence during court sessions.

  • Responding to emergencies and lockdown situations in accordance with established crisis protocols.

Incumbents may encounter potentially hazardous situations involving criminal offenders and their associates, necessitating strong decision-making and interpersonal skills.

Job Duties
  • Facilitating the involvement of various entities utilizing or serving the court, including attorneys and victim advocates.
  • Issuing written notices to defendants regarding upcoming court dates.
  • Assisting law enforcement in managing disruptive behavior during court sessions.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as answering phones and managing documents.
  • Ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment for courtroom activities.
  • Coordinating the logistics for jurors, including their sequestration and accommodation.
Necessary Requirements

Applicants must possess a high school diploma and considerable experience in correctional facilities or law enforcement. The ability to interact effectively with defendants and the public is essential, along with the physical capability to manage demanding situations.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Thorough understanding of courtroom security procedures and emergency response.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws regarding criminal custody.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Special Requirements

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen, and possess a valid driver's license. Attendance at security seminars is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

This role requires moderate physical exertion, including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and maintain agility and coordination in potentially stressful situations.
