About the Role:


Tampa General Hospital is seeking an experienced Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.


Job Description:


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical dosimetry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year medical dosimetry program is preferred, but not required. Board certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (CMD) is also required.


In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for our patients.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and effective treatment plans
  • Perform brachytherapy procedures, including implementation of applicators, generating and calculating treatment plans, and implementing treatment plans
  • Assist with emergency shutdown procedures and data backup procedures as needed
  • Participate in clinical research within the department for patients enrolled in clinical trials, as well as implementation of new techniques

Requirements:



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical dosimetry
  • Board certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (CMD)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year medical dosimetry program (preferred)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
