Position Overview
AECOM is seeking a dynamic and motivated Entry-Level Geotechnical/Structural Engineer for immediate placement in our offices. This role is pivotal in supporting our engineering teams in delivering high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments and evaluate existing structures.
- Supervise geotechnical drilling activities.
- Document and categorize soil samples, preparing comprehensive boring logs.
- Generate detailed reports, including photographic documentation and maintenance recommendations.
- Develop structural calculations for various components, such as foundations and concrete elements.
- Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and settlement evaluations.
- Collaborate with drafting teams to produce construction drawings.
- Review construction-related inquiries and modify designs as necessary.
- Provide computer-aided design support for diverse engineering projects.
- Assist in report writing, site evaluations, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Engage in engineering design and analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Create designs, models, and sketches in collaboration with experienced professionals.
- Ensure project tasks are completed within budget and timeline constraints.
- Apply relevant regulations to establish standards for project design and permitting.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work.
- A valid U.S. driver's license is required for site visits and client interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in civil engineering practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
- Willingness to undertake fieldwork and travel as needed.
