Job Summary

The Diver will be responsible for executing field work on various marine and land-based projects while adhering to strict compliance with corporate policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute field work on dive projects under direct or indirect supervision.
  • Complete all job-specific, employee-related MER Diving paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Understand and work within project scope to maintain compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies.
  • Work safely during all phases of performing job duties in the field.
  • Perform work in areas of varying dimensions, involving squatting and crawling for extended periods.
  • Follow directions, read and speak English, and understand dive plans.
  • Set up and maintain standard dive stations.
  • Identify and maintain components of standard Life Support Equipment job boxes.
  • Memorize emergency line pull signals.
  • Assist divers in dressing and undressing correctly.
  • Tend to divers and their tools.
  • Tie bowlines, hitches, and cleating lines.
  • Perform routine maintenance of underwater life support equipment.
  • Identify frequently used underwater tools.
  • Demonstrate underwater ability during simple dive tasks.
  • Drive and perform safety checks on vehicles for which licensed.
  • May require out-of-town travel for two weeks or more.
  • Must understand and comply with company and client safety standards.
  • Work outside year-round in all types of weather.
  • May be exposed to physical extremes and hazardous conditions.
Qualifications
  • Requires High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills).
  • Experience in hydroelectric facility inspection and repair, nuclear inspection and repair, potable, contaminated, tug/ship inspection and repair, bridge inspection, and/or FERC inspection preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • TWIC required upon employment.
  • Fit-to-dive physical required.
  • Requires visual acuity and distinguish colors.
  • Valid CPR First Aid, CPR, Oxygen Administration, and AED certification.
  • ADCI entry-level tender diver certification card and/or ACDE certification card.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and substance screening process.
